Fieldmasters is a private Leicestershire hunting yard owned by husband and wife team, Martin and Roly Willcox, with the support of specialists both in Leicestershire and Ireland.

Fieldmasters relocated to Leicestershire in 2005 to take advantage of the excellent training facilities in the area for hunters and young eventers. With direct access from their 4 furlong grass bridleway gallop to over 40 miles of off road and country lane riding, a wide choice of training centres and cross country courses, our horses are out and about every week.

The Belvoir, Quorn, Cottesmore and Fernie hunts all in easy reach in the hunting season offer a wide range of country to develop each Fieldmasters horse's abilities.

While Roly has been involved in producing Irish horses since 1979 when she got her British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor qualification, she has been a practising solicitor since 1989. When Martin left the RAF
to become a Captain at Virgin Atlantic, he was able to spend more time with the horses and usually needs at least 3 large hunters each season for himself.

As both Roly and Martin share their time between Fieldmasters and their professional careers, to produce high calibre horses means Fieldmasters focuses on quality not quantity. Therefore we never hold more horses in Leicestershire than we can regularly hunt each week or event out of hunting season. John Bowen BE accredited trainer has been a major help to improve our training techniques since 2005.

We have sold many of our horses on recommendations, professional referrals and return clients. Before this website was launched in September 2009, even if you had heard about us we appreciate it was difficult to find out more about Fieldmasters. It will help you to know that we don't supply cobs or ponies, or anything under 16hh. We specialise in the bigger sizes of 16.2hh-17.2hh usually in the 5-7 year age group. A Fieldmasters horse is a high performance horse and not therefore suitable for inexperienced riders. To maintian our high standards we regret we cannot accommodate part exchange offers.
